McLaren driver Oscar Piastri says Formula 1 still needs further changes in future after finding the overtaking and defending in the Miami Grand Prix "pretty crazy", despite rule tweaks introduced for the race. Piastri said: "The collaboration from the FIA and F1 has been good. But there are only so many things you can change with the hardware we have. So some changes in the future are, I think, still needed, for sure. How quickly we can do it is the big question."

The FIA has confirmed tweaks to F1’s ADUO (Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunities) rules after the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix, which has provisionally cut the 2026 calendar to 22 rounds.
