FIA confirms 2027 power unit changes
The FIA has confirmed that Formula 1’s power units will be changed for 2027 after an online meeting with the 11 team principals, Formula One Management and representatives from Mercedes, Ferrari, Red Bull Powertrains, Audi and Honda. In a statement, the FIA said there was a “unanimous commitment to introduce changes” for 2027, with the package agreed in principle set to bring a “nominal increase in Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) power by ~50kW with a fuel-flow increase” and a “nominal reduction of the Energy Recovery System (ERS) deployment power by ~50kW”.
